How I handle your information.
Last updated 6 October 2026
Who I am
This website belongs to Matthew Cutajar, a commercial photographer and videographer based in Malta. I am the data controller for the personal information described here. You can reach me at matt@matthewcutajar.com.
What I collect
- Enquiries. When you use the contact form I receive your name, email address, business name, the services you are interested in, your timing and your message. If you email, call or message me on WhatsApp, I receive whatever you send.
- Newsletter. If you tick "Sign up for news and updates" on the form, I keep your email address to send occasional updates.
- Website usage. Squarespace, which hosts this site, records basic visit information such as pages viewed, browser, device and approximate location, using cookies and similar technology.
Why I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. This is a step you have asked for before we agree any work.
- To deliver work, invoice and keep business records once we work together, as required by Maltese law.
- To send updates, only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand how the site is used and keep it secure. This is in my legitimate interest in running the business.
I do not sell your information or use it for anything else.
Who else handles it
- Squarespace hosts the website and stores form submissions.
- Google Workspace provides my business email.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this site, so your browser connects to Google's servers to load them.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries any messages you choose to send me there.
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area. They do so under safeguards recognised by EU law, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within two years. Records for client work are kept for as long as Maltese tax and accounting law requires. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how I use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you gave. Email matt@matthewcutajar.com and I will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to Malta's Information and Data Protection Commissioner at idpc.org.mt.
Cookies
Squarespace sets cookies that the site needs to work, and analytics cookies that help me see how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date.
